Development Activities

Rural India, which encompasses three fourth of the India's population is characterized by low income levels, inadequate to ensure a quality of life compatible with physical well being.

District Administration in accordance with Central and State governments, is spearheading the frontal attack on rural poverty, through its various programmes endeavored to reach out to the last and most disadvantaged sections of society, provide them with avenues of employment and to improve infrastructure relating to their life-supporting system.


Implementation of Rural Development Plans and Programmes

    Rural Development and poverty alleviation programmes are implemented on a decentralized basis throughout the country.

    At the central levelMinistry of Rural Development has been  implementing these programmes in the rural areas. Ministry releases central share of funds, policy formulation, overall guidance, monitoring and evaluation of the programmes. 

    At the state levelSecretary, Rural Development is overall incharge for implementation. 

    At the district level Zila Parishad is responsible to implement the rural development programmes. Governing body of Zila Parishad includes the Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), district level officials of related departments, and representives of weaker sections of society. 

    At the block levelBlock Development Officer and at the villege level, Gram Sevaks (Villege Representatives) are responsible for the implementation of rural development plans.




Jhalawar - Development Activities 

The various activites that relate to the development of the region are implemented at district level. Some of the noteworthy activities are mentioned below:

Bhamashah Yojana: This yojana is intended to empower women(identified as Family Head) for Direct Benefit Transfer(DBT) and to maintain the number and status of every citizen of Rajasthan. In this scheme a Bhamashah ID is provided for a family whose head is a women. This id is linked with adahaar id of Head of Family(HOF).

                               At present, the bhamashah yojan is being implemented by organizing camps at gram panchayat level. Also, the citizens can enroll for Bhamashah by apporaching to nearest e-mitra with the required documents and the bnk account number in name of Female Head of Family.
